Does the adjunctive use of statins provide additional benefits to nonsurgical periodontal treatment? A systematic review and meta-analysis

Ambrósio LMB, et al. – This research aimed to assess if adjunctive local delivery of statins is more effective than scaling and root planing (SRP) alone using a systematic review and meta-analysis approach. Results of this study suggested that local statins might offer additional clinical advantages to SRP, even in smokers and diabetics.
