Zagari RM, et al. – This meta–analysis aspired to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the serum panel test for the diagnosis of atrophic gastritis. For the diagnosis of atrophic gastritis, the combination of pepsinogen, gastrin–17, and anti–H. pylori antibodies serological assays appeared to be a reliable tool. For screening subjects or populations at high risk of gastric cancer for atrophic gastritis, this test could be used. However, a cost–effectiveness analysis was required.
