Respiration | Mar 19, 2018
Liu Q, et al. - The accuracy of interleukin-27 (IL-27) in the differential diagnosis between tuberculous pleural effusion (TPE) and malignant pleural effusion (MPE) was determined herein. For the diagnosis of TPE, the relative accuracy of IL-27 determination was shown. Furthermore, IL-27 assessments served as a tool to differentiate TPE from MPE, with very high sensibility (SEN) and specificity (SPE). Interpretation of the results of IL-27 assays in parallel with clinical findings and the results of conventional tests was recommended.
