Dexmedetomidine as an adjunctive analgesic to ropivacaine in pectoral nerve block in oncological breast surgery: A randomized double-blind prospective study

Kaur H, et al. - Herein, analgesic efficacy of dexmedetomidine was tested, when given as an adjunctive to ropivacaine for pectoral nerve block (Pecs) in oncological breast surgery. Increased duration of analgesia and decreased postoperative morphine consumption were noted in patients who received 1 μ/kg dexmedetomidine as an adjunctive to 0.25% ropivacaine for Pecs block in oncological breast surgery.
