Minoia F, et al. - The researchers intended to establish and validate a diagnostic score which would aid in distinguishing primary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (pHLH) from macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) related to systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis. They suggested that the MH score was a powerful tool that might help in identifying patients who were more likely to have pHLH. Hence, this approach could be prioritized for functional and genetic testing.
