Dental health status and hygiene in children with cerebral palsy: A matched case-control study

Aburahma SK, Mhanna A, Al-Mousa S, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for assessing oral hygiene habits and oral examination findings among a group of children with cerebral palsy (CP) and healthy age– and gender-matched control group. The sample consisted of 83 children with CP and 84 healthy age– and gender-matched children. According to this observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study, children with CP have suboptimal oral hygiene habits, restricted access to procedural dental care, higher parafunctional habits, and increased periodontal pathology.
