Mehl J, et al. - Authors analyzed data from 423 patients in the German Cartilage Registry to assess the merit behind the idea that degenerative cartilage defects of the patellofemoral joint are correlated to more severe clinical symptoms vs trauma-related defects. They found that degenerative isolated cartilage defects in the patellofemoral joints may be associated with more severe clinical symptoms vs trauma-related effects. Further, the reported a larger variance regarding their location with more trochlear defects.
