Decrease of trabecular bone score reflects severity of Crohn’s disease: Results of a case-control study

European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Dec 19, 2017

Krajcovicova A, et al. - This case-control study was designed to evaluate the effect of trabecular bone score (TBS) on the severity of Crohn’s disease (CD). The results were then compared with regard to bone mineral density (BMD). TBS was found to be correlated with the severity of CD, but not BMD. Therefore, the outcomes suggested that compared to BMD alone, TBS could potentially help to identify high fracture risk CD patients better.
