Cystic fibrosis: A risk condition for renal disease

Santoro D, et al. - This study assessed cystic fibrosis (CF) patients for the prevalence of proteinuria and chronic renal failure (CRF). Researchers observed a higher prevalence of renal disease in CF patients than was previously described. As per observations, the main reason may be associated with increased life expectancy ascribed to better management. Furthermore, a higher risk of proteinuria was seen in patients with ΔF508 homozygosis.
