Correlation between aqueous flare and residual visual field area in retinitis pigmentosa
British Journal of Ophthalmology Jun 08, 2018
Nishiguchi KM, et al. - Researchers gauged the association between aqueous flare, visual function and macular structures in retinitis pigmentosa (RP). They analyzed the clinical data from 123 patients with RP (227 eyes), 35 patients with macular dystrophy (68 eyes) and 148 controls (148 eyes). In patients with RP, findings suggested an association of aqueous flare and visual field. The degree of overall retinal degeneration could be reflected more closely by aqueous flare than the local foveal impairment. Compared to the patients with macular dystrophy or controls, aqueous flare was higher in patients with RP.
