Complications and outcomes of pregnancy and cesarean delivery in women with neuropathic bladder and lower urinary tract reconstruction
Urology Jan 17, 2018
Roth JD, et al. - The outcomes of pregnancy and cesarean delivery (CD) were investigated by the researchers among women with neuropathic bladder (NB) and pediatric lower urinary tract reconstruction (LUTR), as these women often had normal fertility and could become pregnant. High rates of complications during pregnancy and CD delivery were noted in females with NB and LUTR, despite the routine involvement of urologists. Worst complications were reported among those with prolonged labor, prior CD or those with a history of noncompliance. Hence, the consistent presence and participation of a urologist were recommended during CD.
