Fu X, Tian Z, Thapa S, et al. - In this cross-sectional cohort involving 309 patients with cancer who had routine abdominal CT within 30 days, researchers assessed the diagnostic value of SARC-F and SARC-F combined with calf circumference (SARC-CalF) in screening cancer-related sarcopenia in cancer population. To compare the diagnostic value of SARC-F and SARC-CalF for sarcopenia, the receiver operating characteristics curves and the area under the receiver operating characteristics curves were used. In the patient group, the prevalence of low muscle mass and sarcopenia was 85.1% and 50.5% by Western criteria. SARC-CalF significantly increases SARC-F's sensitivity and overall diagnostic accuracy in sarcopenia screening. SARC-CalF may be a rapid sarcopenia screening tool in cancer patients.
