Comparative study of ultrasound-guided paravertebral block vs intravenous tramadol for postoperative pain control in percutaneous nephrolithotomy

Hatipoglu Z, et al. - Ultrasound-guided paravertebral block (PVB) and tramadol were compared as options for postoperative pain control following percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Findings demonstrated that relative to tramadol, ultrasound-guided PVB afforded an effective analgesia in patients who underwent PCNL. No additional complications were encountered.
