Combination cyclophosphamide/glucocorticoids provide better tolerability and outcomes vs glucocorticoids alone in patients with Sjogren's associated chronic interstitial nephritis

Shen Y, et al. - This study provides information regarding comparative efficacies of cyclophosphamide (CTX) combined with glucocorticoids vs glucocorticoids alone for the treatment of primary Sjogren’s associated tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN). Based on the results of this comparison, researchers recommended CTX therapy for primary Sjogren’s syndrome patients with chronic TIN, especially for those with higher immunoglobulin G levels and abnormal renal function at baseline.
