Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Oct 17, 2017

Otani I, et al. - Here, the authors demonstrated the clinical factors associated with villous edema (VE) in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC), and examined the clinical significance of VE. They found a significant correlation between clinical factors related to portal hypertension and VE. Specifically, portal vein thrombosis (PVT) was associated with the appearance and exacerbation of VE. In LC patients, periodic capsule endoscopy (CE) could lead to early detection of portal hypertension and PVT.
