Clinical predictors of regression of choroidal melanomas after brachytherapy
Ophthalmology Mar 03, 2018
Rashid M, et al. - The experts aimed to evaluate correctly and efficiently the contribution of tumor characteristics on the rate of regression of choroidal melanomas following brachytherapy in a way that adjusted and took into account variation in tumor regression patterns for confounding by building multivariate models. They noted that the regression of choroidal melanoma following brachytherapy was related to several clinical tumor and treatment parameters, most of which reflected initial tumor size. The isotope used was an independent predictor of regression of tumor thickness. While exploring the associations with the rate of regression of histopathologic or genetic features of the tumor, these 2 covariates required adjustment.
