Clinical outcome of femoral neck system vs cannulated compression screws for fixation of femoral neck fracture in younger patients
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Jun 12, 2021
Hu H, Cheng J, Feng M, et al. - This study was carried out to assess two different internal fixation methods for the treatment of femoral neck fractures in patients aged under 60 years. Researchers retrospectively examined individuals who had undergone internal fixation surgery in our hospital for femoral neck fractures between January 2017 and January 2020. They classified cannulated compression screws (CCS) and femoral neck system (FNS) groups according to different internal fixation methods. The findings revealed that individuals younger than 60 with femoral neck fractures can obtain satisfactory clinical results with CCS or FNS treatment. The results indicate that FNS has excellent biomechanical properties and demonstrates significantly higher overall construct stability.
