Clinical implications of CD4+ T cell subsets in adult atopic asthma patients

Wiest M, et al. - The potential clinical implications of individual subsets of T cells in adult atopic asthma patients was investigated herein. Findings showed that CCR4+CCR7+ memory, but not CCR4+CCR7- memory, α4+, and CTLA4+ CD4+ T cells in patients demonstrated significant clinical implications in atopic asthma. It was also noted that the frequency of such CD4+ T cell subsets in adult atopic asthma patients could not be changed with the use of current common therapeutics.
