Dodd M, et al. - Researchers investigated if utilization of a rapid streptococcal antigen test (RADT) may improve appropriate prescribing for bacterial pharyngitis. Utilizing the RADT improved outpatient prescribing of antibiotics. Early identification and treatment were allowed using highly sensitive rapid step tests. In this work, clinical symptoms with rapid test results rarely conflicted with the standard of care.
