Clinical factors affecting the accuracy of guided implant surgeryâA systematic review and meta-analysis
The Journal of Evidence Based Dental Practice | Sep 11, 2017
Zhou W, et al. Â The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the current dental literature regarding the clinical accuracy of guided implant surgery and to examine the involved clinical factors. The findings suggested that the position of guide, guide fixation, type of guide, and flap approach could affect the accuracy of computer-aided implant surgery. However, a totally guided system using fixation screws with a flapless protocol showed the greatest accuracy. The authors advised that future clinical research should use a standardized measurement technique for improved accuracy.
