British Journal of Dermatology Dec 23, 2018

Shalom G, et al. - Researchers examined 11,944 cases with chronic urticaria (CU) and 59,829 controls in a nationwide observational longitudinal cohort study to assess the link between CU and osteoporosis between 2002–2017. They analyzed the risk for osteoporosis with Cox regression models adjusted for age, sex, exposure to systemic corticosteroids, obesity, smoking, hyper- and hypo-thyroid disease and observed 8.7% of CU participants diagnosed with osteoporosis indicating that CU might be a risk for osteoporosis.
