Chronic lateral epicondylalgia does not exhibit mechanical pain modulation in response to noxious conditioning heat stimulus

Lim ECW, et al. - Experts strived to ascertain whether lateral epicondylalgia (LE) exhibited a less efficacious conditioned pain modulation (CPM) compared with that in pain-free controls. The outcomes that proposed an impaired ability to modulate pain could be correlated with the previously observed spinal cord hyperexcitability and the mechanical hyperalgesia that characterizes LE.
