Choroidal vascularity index changes after vitreomacular surgery
Acta Ophthalmologica Jun 14, 2018
Rizzo S, et al. - Experts studied the structural changes using swept-source (SS) optical coherence tomography (OCT), a tool for the choroidal vascularity index (CVI) following epiretinal membrane removal in the choroid. Findings suggested that after epiretinal membrane removal CVI decreases when compared to the fellow eyes, thereby suggesting structural changes in the vascular layers of the choroid. Choroidal thickness was induced by secondary inflammation resulting from mechanical traction by way of increased vascularization of the choroid.
