Childhood bruising distribution observed from eight mechanisms of unintentional injury

Hibberd O, et al. – The objective of this prospective study was to describe the mechanisms of bruising in children. Evidence accumulated in this study would aid in the assessment of the plausibility for a child with bruising. In this study, certain bruise distributions were rarely observed, namely multiple bruises from a single mechanism, petechiae and bruising to the ears, neck or genitalia.
