Characterization of children with recurrent eczema herpeticum and response to treatment with interferon-gamma

Pediatric Dermatology Nov 23, 2017

Darji K, et al. - This study was designed in order to examine the immunologic and microbial parameters and response to interferon gamma (IFN-γ) treatment in children with confirmed eczema herpeticum. An evidence of impaired innate and adaptive immunity was brought to light in the study cohort. IFN-γ did not cause dramatic improvement in either subset. It was noted that specific analysis for IFN-γ production, function, or receptor defects could assist in speculating the response.
