Cervical soft tissue recurrence of differentiated thyroid carcinoma after thyroidectomy indicates a poor prognosis

International Journal of Surgery Oct 06, 2017

These lesions exhibited no evidence that they were lymph nodes (LNs). In this work, a low incidence of DTC recurrence in cervical soft tissue was observed. However, when present, it may be a predictor for distant recurrence. They recommended performing a long-term postoperative evaluation to minimize the risk preferably with US.
