Cerebral strokes in children on intracorporeal ventricular assist devices: Analysis of the EUROMACS Registry

Schweiger M, et al. - Researchers in this study focused on cerebral strokes in paediatric patients supported by intracorporeal continuous-flow ventricular assist devices. Findings suggested a low incidence of cerebral strokes in children with intracorporeal ventricular assist devices (VADs) (0.1 per patient-year), this was irrespective of the body surface area.
