Cell-free DNA in metastatic colorectal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Spindler KLG, et al. – In order to appraise cell–free DNA in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), experts undertook this work. In patients with mCRC, data displayed high total cell-free DNA (cfDNA) levels, which carried strong prognostic information. It was suggested to be tested prospectively by using a predefined cut–off value based on normal values in healthy cohorts. They highlighted the potential use of cfDNA for detection of tumor–specific mutations.
