Findings suggested the cefazolin underdosing to be common, especially for patients weighing more than 120 kg. There was a greater likeness of the underdosed patients to develop PJI. Attention ought to be paid to the weight-based dosing of antibiotics in the perioperative period to avoid increasing risk for PJI.
