Lasers in Medical Science Aug 29, 2017

Antunes HS, et al. – A pilot study was undertaken to assess differences in gene expression in the keratinocytes of the oral mucosa of patients treated with photobiomodulation therapy and tried to associate the molecular mechanisms with clinical findings. Results of this study suggested that the lower incidence of oral mucositis related to photobiomodulation therapy could be correlated to the activation of genes involved in keratinocyte differentiation.
