CCBYNC Open access Research Childhood-onset inflammatory bowel disease and risk of cancer: A Swedish nationwide cohort study 1964-2014

Olen O, et al. - A Swedish nationwide cohort study is performed to evaluate the risk of cancer in patients with childhood-onset inflammatory bowel disease in childhood and adulthood. The current study showed that childhood-onset inflammatory bowel disease is related to an increased risk of any cancer, particularly gastrointestinal cancers, both in childhood and later in life. The higher risk of cancer has not fallen over time.
