Annals of Emergency Medicine Nov 09, 2017

Vo KT, et al. - In this study, a population of predominantly pediatric patients who were inadvertently exposed to a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-containing product in San Francisco was described. Observation revealed that pediatric patients had more severe symptoms and longer hospital length of stay in general. A majority of these patients presented with leukocytosis and elevated lactic acid levels. Efforts to increase general public awareness in regard to the potential hazards of THC-containing edibles resembling commercially available food products should be made.
