Bradyarrhythmias in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
The American Journal of Cardiology Feb 28, 2019
Liang E, et al. - In this cross-sectional study including 522 arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) patients, researchers evaluated the prevalence as well as the clinical significance of bradyarrhythmias including sick sinus syndrome (SSS), atrioventricular block (AVB), and intraventricular conductional block (ICB) from May 1995 to December 2017. There were 169 (32.4%) patients that presented with bradyarrhythmias, with 18 (3.5%) with SSS, 56 (10.7%) with AVB, and 118 (22.6%) with ICB. Findings revealed a common prevalence of bradyarrhythmias in ARVC patients. The type that was most commonly documented was ICB. Factors that were found to be related to death and heart transplantation were female, left atrial diameter > 40mm and NYHA class.
