Blood HER2 and uromodulin as causal mediators of CKD
Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Mar 14, 2018
Sjaarda J, et al. - Causal mediators of CKD were identified herein using a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Uromodulin (UMOD) and human EGF receptor 2 (HER2) were identified as independent causal mediators of CKD in humans. Also, it was noted that angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) partly regulated serum HER2 levels. These biomarkers are potential therapeutic targets for CKD prevention.
