Bile spillage as a risk factor for surgical site infection after laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A prospective study of 1,001 patients

Peponis T, et al. - In view of the frequent occurrence of bile spillage (BS) during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, researchers seek for its impact on postoperative outcomes. Findings suggest that BS is associated with surgical site infections. They recommended practicing extra caution to avoid it during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
