Daghmouri MA, Akremi S, Chaouch MA, et al. - The analgesic efficacy of ESP block was examined in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy via performing a meta‐analysis. Researchers conducted literature searches of electronic databases and manual searches identifying a total of five RCTs consisting of 250 patients for inclusion (124 in the ESP block group vs 126 in the control group). Based on outcomes, they suggest effectiveness as well as safety of using bilateral ultrasound‐guided ESP block for lowering opioid consumption and the time to first rescue analgesic in adults undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
