Atrioventricular block can be used as a risk predictor of clinical atrial fibrillation
Clinical Cardiology Feb 27, 2019
Zhao X, et al. - Authors examined 1,345 cases to estimate the connection between atrioventricular block (AVB) and atrial fibrillation (AF). They observed a relative statistical risk of 1.927 for the occurrence of atrial fibrillation in I AVB. They reported II AVB in 67 cases (9.87%); the statistical risk of II AVB in AF was 16.845. They also found a comparative statistical risk of 17.599 with III AVB. Hence, atrioventricular block could be used as a risk factor for atrial fibrillation occurrence.
