Associations of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene (MTHFR) rs1801131 and rs1801133 polymorphisms with susceptibility to vitiligo: A meta-analysis
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Jun 25, 2021
Zhang HZ, Wu JH, Huang Q, et al. - Since recent studies investigated the associations of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) rs1801131 and rs1801133 polymorphisms with the risk of vitiligo, but the results still remained controversial, researchers sought to further assess the correlation of MTHFR polymorphisms with the risk of vitiligo. In total, 6 studies that included MTHFR rs1801131 and/or rs1801133 polymorphism were finally involved, which recorded 3,599 candidates. This meta-analysis verified the relationships of MTHFR rs1801131 and rs1801133 polymorphisms with vitiligo risks and provided comprehensive insight into the pathogenesis of vitiligo.
