Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice Mar 09, 2018

Ashinne B, et al. - During this study, authors discerned the tie-up between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels with the presence and severity of diabetic retinopathy (DR) among Asian Indians with type 2 diabetes. A correlation was disclosed between lower serum 25(OH)D with increased severity of DR in Asian Indians with type 2 diabetes. Data also illustrated that the presence of vitamin D deficiency (VDD) exhibited a link with a 2-fold increased risk for proliferative DR.
