Association of CYP1A1 rs1048943 variant with aggressive periodontitis and its interaction with hyperlipidemia on the periodontal status
Journal of Periodontal Research May 02, 2019
Wang X, et al. - In this case-control study involving 224 generalized aggressive periodontitis (GAgP) patients and 139 healthy controls, researchers examined the connection between the CYP1A1 gene rs1048943 variant with GAgP and platelet activation and investigated if its interaction with hyperlipidemia affects periodontal status in a Chinese population. In a Chinese population, the G allele of the CYP1A1 rs1048943 gene was linked to GAgP, periodontal status and platelet-related inflammation status. Findings suggested that the effect of CYP1A1 rs1048943 on the periodontal status of GAgP could be modulated by hyperlipidemia.
