Karst SG, et al. - The experts assessed the association of changes in macular perfusion with repeated ranibizumab injections in subjects having diabetic macular edema. They noted that repeated ranibizumab treatment was not related to impaired macular perfusion. As the findings did not suggest a harmful effect of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy on capillary integrity, these treatments ought not to be denied to the subjects with severe microangiopathy and advanced capillary dropout.
