Ma SH, Chang YT, Dai YX, et al. - By performing a systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers examined whether there exists a link between vitiligo and sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). Studies assessing the link between SNHL and vitiligo were identified by exploring EMBASE, MEDLINE, PubMed, and Cochrane databases from inception to June 28, 2020. Overall 14 case-control studies comprising 938 patients of vitiligo were analyzed. According to the evidence to date, a relationship of SNHL with vitiligo is supported. In patients suffering from vitiligo, audiological assessment is suggested for early detection as well as treatment of hearing loss.
