Association between spinal immobilization and survival at discharge for on-scene blunt traumatic cardiac arrest: A nationwide retrospective cohort study
Injury Sep 13, 2017
Tsutsumi Y, et al. - This nationwide retrospective cohort study aimed to examine the temporal trend of spinal immobilization for traumatic cardiac arrest (TCA) patients and to examine the association between spinal immobilization and survival. Even for blunt TCA patients, spinal immobilization was widely used, although it was correlated with a lower rate of survival at discharge and return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by admission. Collected evidence represented that spinal immobilization was not routinely recommended for all blunt TCA patients.
