Zhang J, et al. – Experts gauged the association between periodontal disease and mortality in the chronic kidney disease (CKD) population. In the study population, they observed an association between periodontal disease and an increased risk of all–cause death. However, this study did not find adequate evidence to indicate that periodontal disease was also at elevated risk for cardiovascular death.
