Association between metabolic syndrome and gingival inflammation in obese children

Ka K, et al. - This study was performed to investigate the association between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) level in obese children. A positive association was found between MetS and GCF TNF-α concentration in obese boys. These outcomes proposed that compared to their obese counterpart without MetS, obese boys with MetS could have a worse gingival health profile.
