Association between fetuin-a and prognosis of CAD: A systematic review and meta-analysis
European Journal of Clinical Investigation Feb 28, 2019
Xie WM, et al. - A total of 4,256 participants with CAD were examined to evaluate the relationship between serum fetuin-A (an anti-inflammation and anti-calcification factor) level and the prognosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). In individuals with CAD, they saw a statistically significant relationship between high serum fetuin-A level and low all-cause mortality due to a pooled hazard ratio for all-cause mortality of 0.57. No statistically significant association between serum fetuin-A level and secondary CVD incidence in CAD patients was seen (pooled HR, 0.86). A correlation between high serum fetuin-A level and lower all-cause mortality among CAD candidates was supported.
