Association between educational level and cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes: A prospective study in the Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation Program
Clinical Epidemiology Nov 02, 2018
Wu HJ, et al. - In Hong Kong Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes, researchers characterized the relationship between educational level and incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause mortality by analyzing data from 12,634 patients with type 2 diabetes who were enlisted into the Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation Program between June 1, 2007 and June 30, 2017. Among Hong Kong Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes, educational level has an inverse relationship with CVD and all-cause mortality risk. With the goal of preventing key complications of diabetes, Hong Kong Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes and low educational level ought to be given extra consideration.
