Robins D, et al. - The objective herein was to investigate patient pain perception from receiving MRI fusion guided prostate biopsy (FBx) in addition to transrectal ultrasound-guided template biopsy (TBx) vs the pain from standard TBx alone. Compared to TBx alone, no difference in pain or discomfort with FBx+TBx was reported by the patients. Findings suggested both the procedures to be mildly painful and the patients were very willing to come for repeat biopsy if important. The pain experience of the patients ought not to influence if or not additional FBx is performed.
