As per observations, approaching zero CT use for evaluation of pediatric appendicitis seemed possible through a multidisciplinary protocol without impacting clinical outcomes. However, increased magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) use led to higher costs. Further study is recommended to assess the cost-effectiveness of replacing CT with MRI.
