Application of automated peritoneal dialysis in urgent-start peritoneal dialysis patients during the break-in period

Liu S, et al. - Given the lack of clarity regarding the feasibility of automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) as a strategy for urgent-start peritoneal dialysis (PD) therapy during the break-in period, researchers, herein, compared the efficacy as well as complications among 3 PD modes during the break-in period. They found that it was feasible to apply APD for urgent-start PD during the break-in period. Furthermore, a combination of APD and continuous ambulatory PD regimens seemed to be a more reasonable mode.
